Position Title: Subject Matter Expert (SME) 2

Location: Charleston, South Carolina

Security Clearance: DoD Secret

Position Overview:

SPN Solutions Inc. seeks a highly skilled Subject Matter Expert (SME) 2 to become an integral part of the Wireless Integration Engineering (WIE) team. As an SME 2, you will be expected to provide on-site engineering support for the sustainment, upgrade, and troubleshooting of site- and enterprise-level Wireless Systems. Your expertise in LAN or Wireless LAN communications infrastructure or configuration will play a crucial role in the successful execution of a key Department of Defense contract.

Education Requirements:

  • Security Certification
  • Technical Training in LAN or Wireless LAN communications and Cable Plant Infrastructure.

Experience:

  • Ten (10) years of hands-on experience configuring IP LAN and/or 802.11 Wireless LAN Systems, including at least three of the following OEMs: Cisco, Brocade (Extreme), Juniper, Aruba (Hewlett Packard).
  • Alternatively, possession of a Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification and ten (10) years of hands-on experience implementing inside and outside cable plant systems supporting LAN and Wireless LAN communications systems.
  • Proven expertise and leadership within the LAN or Wireless LAN communications infrastructure or configuration industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network, Systems and Equipment Expertise: Provide in-depth functional and technical knowledge in networks, systems, and equipment that support multi-resource deployments to various DoD facilities.
  • Preliminary WLAN Design Support: Develop preliminary WLAN designs, execute WLAN simulations/predictions, review System Operational Verification Test (SOVT) data, and request access to WLAN controllers.
  • Site Surveys: Participate in site surveys to identify capability gaps in the existing organization WLAN network related to the triennial modernization project system requirements. Deploy survey teams to up to 10 different DoD facilities simultaneously.
  • LAN/WLAN Survey Data Collection: Conduct on-site data collection to identify necessary augmentations to address the technical requirements, verify pre-survey WLAN predictive data, and prepare comprehensive technical reports.
  • Design Support: Collaborate with the LAN Design Review Board (LDRB) and Wireless Design Review Board (WDRB) to establish the preliminary design philosophy.
  • Site Implementation Support: Provide input to a Site Implementation Plan (SIP) or a Limited Upgrade Plan (LUP) summarizing the existing condition of the LAN and WLAN. Participate in mandatory deliverable development meetings and ensure the development of quality, accurate, and complete deliverables.
  • Quality Assurance: Develop and adhere to a comprehensive Quality Assurance (QA) plan to ensure the quality, consistency, accuracy, and completeness of project deliverables.
